The Setting:

The country of Andorra with its beautiful landscape and recluse location, has become a haven for the rich and powerful. Beautiful mansions and large gardens mix sits on hills reached by avenues lined with trees. With them comes servants, businesses, families and altogether, Andorra starts to flourish with people integrating their cities into the environment.

With the growth of people, comes vampires who hunt at night...

What you can play:

Sect: To begin with everyone plays Camarilla vampires.
Status: One point in status to become a neonate is recommended, as a fledgeling would include more limited character options, and more limited gameplay. More points than one should be discussed with the Storyteller.
Age: You start out as a young vampire.
Generation: A generation lower than eight must be approved by the storyteller.

Available Camarilla clans:
Brujah: Strong and rowdy these are not to be underestimated, since they have their own domain, it is a good choice to play.
Gangrel: Most Gangrel are independent, but a few still stays within the sect. Perhaps the wild mountains is a lure for the wild heart.
Malkavian: Crazy people, with very little presence in Andorra. Or perhaps there are more? You never know how many are under the facade.
Nosferatu: Ugly as they are, Nosferatu players are recommended to have mask of a thousand faces for more options of gameplay. They have a good presence in Andorra, but no real power there, then again, that might be because they are disliked.
Toreador: Though not having a big presence in Andorra, the clan does have a seat on the Primogen council, which encourages more Toreadors to move in. Artist and visionaries are needed for a growing community after all.
Tremere: A small chantry needs more brains, like the Toreadors, they have a seat at the Primogen council, and the clan wouldn't mind strengthening their hold to uncover the secrets of the Pyrenees.
Ventrue: Being the clan of the local Prince, it is quite easy for Ventrue to gain access in Andorra, as long as they know their place of course, but that goes for everyone.

Future opportunities:
There will be possibilities to play more than one character in the future. New characters might be able to break some of the above stated requirements. Perhaps an Assamite has come to join the Camarilla? Or perhaps someone wants to try and play an elder. Or why not become part of one the Sabbat packs nearby? Before getting to play a secondary character, you need to play with your first in a manner where it shows you have the time and/or skill to pull off a second one. Of course, you may not use your characters to give yourself unreasonable advantages.

General Rules:

Threads and Time:
Each thread is for one scene, it can involve one or more players. One player can write in many scenes at once, playing out different times in the story at the same time. In order to start a thread, either just create one, or talk to other players who should be involved about making one. Try to put the post in the right subforum, depending on where the scene is played out. In some cases you might want to do something requiring NPCs or a Storyteller, in that case, you contact the Storyteller. If you start a thread, note in the title whether the thread is closed or open. An open thread, anyone can join, should they feel their character might be there. A closed thread can only be joined if a player first has permission of the creator to join in.

Posting:
When posting in a thread with more than two players, you may maximum post two post between any other players' post. For example, Player A writes, Player B replies, Player C replies, then Player B replies again, followed by Player C, then the players has to wait for player A, before they post again. This rule can be ignored if it has been more than a week since the last post in the thread was posted, in that case other players can post again as if the one who hasn't posted did post. As per the example above, Player A hasn't replied for 10 days after Player C's last reply, so Player B and C can write two more posts each. When in a scene with NPCs, the Storyteller counts as a player with regard to this rule. Should a player announce ahead of time that they will not be able to post, the thread should be paused until they are back, as long as the pause is no longer than a month. All these rules can be broken if all players in the thread agrees to something else.

Posting language:
We will be posting in English, however, as the story plays out in Andorra, most characters will speak French or Spanish. No matter which language your character speaks, write which language it is unless it is your standard language for the character, and should you want to flavour the text with the real language, make sure there is a translation for other players who does not know it.

Posting guidelines:
Try to post more than just what your character is doing, in order to be able to get somewhere without having to write something each day, react to other's post, write your feelings and thoughts if applicable (even though others might not know them), write what your character does after that as well. That way each post moves the story along. In a conversation, write your respond, your thoughts, and how your character continues the subject, or changes it. However do not play other characters, you can write that you touch their shoulder and try to squeeze it, but the other player has the opportunity to reply that they shrug away before you do so.

Forbidden subjects:
There are none, but do try to make sure everyone in the scene is comfortable with playing it and if unsure; ask! Sensitive subjects will be a part of the game, sexism for example is normal among vampires, and the time of the game. As long as it is kept in character and not between players, all kinds of horrible views and actions are quite alright. Some characters and NPCs might do the most heinous things, that is part of the dark world.

Vampiric Sexuality
As for sexuality there are different views whether or not vampires have it, so it is best to clarify how it will work in this game. The rule in this game is; they have it if they put value into it, a Sinner might be more keen on it than a King for example. Although blood is what they enjoy the most, and all other pleasures are dampened in comparison, they still might find pleasure in other things, whether it is physical, emotional, a power trip, or otherwise. Of course, as with other things they need to spend blood in order to act as humans. Thereby it is up to each player and character to decide, be aware though, that anyone in a scene should be comfortable with what is written, and in what detail it is written, as mentioned above.

Storyteller:
The storyteller plays NPCs and is there for other things the players can't control or know. The storyteller can jump into any thread where it feels necessary, as decided by the storyteller. Sometimes the storytellers input might be needed in a thread, in that case, the players should reach out for the storyteller and ask them to read the thread. Depending on the timespan, the storyteller might not have time to read everything, unless told to.

Rolls:
According to Vampire the Masquerade system, rolls are required to determine outcomes. Here players are encouraged to play things out, and do what is most interesting to the scene, as well as most fitting for the characters. Should there be disagreement, or just a wish for a roll, the players can either roll themselves, or ask the storyteller to roll for them. The same comes to using disciplines, many powers can be acted out between the players, while others might require the storyteller's input.

XP:
XP will not be given out through gameplay, instead, a player can write a post in the personal training thread, detailing how they are training to become better, or arguing why they got training in another thread. A maximum of one such post per week is allowed, and each post can award from 1-5 XP from the storyteller, and they are reserved for the specific skill the player is training.

Bloodpool and Willpower:
Each week, one bloodpoint is lost, and one willpower is gained. If a player has decided to stay awake during the day in any of their threads, they must inform the storyteller and a willpower will not be gained that week. But remember, staying awake is very difficult for a vampire! Willpower can also be gained by doing something according to the character's nature, this will however, be a secondary way of regaining willpower, and will only be determined by the storyteller should the player ask them for it. Everytime willpower or blood is used in the game; notify the Storyteller.

The Golden Rule:
The golden rule of vampire the masquerade is that there are no rules. That is not quite the case, as the rules are for making sure everyone can have fun on equal terms, but it still applies, as the rules can be bent, and changed, depending on what is needed for a scene, story or otherwise to have fun!
