Roses in the Night [Open]

Sarai finds him charming, but his idea of the Beast simply doesn't campare to what she has, what she knows. Still he is right, she supposes, that the beast can be ignored, something to try perhaps, but draining. She prefers to keep a strong, level head, and pay the price, than to resist needlessly. She wouldn't mass murder for fun, but surely the occasional 'mishap' is a small price to pay?

He confuses her zeal and it's unsettling, an elder would have such an ability wouldn't he? But is he trying to lie to her? Manipulate her? Or help? She gets the feeling he is genuine, which makes her a bit suspicious. 'Too good to be true' comes to mind.

No matter. She can verify the truth by herself, in her own time.

"I guess it was educational, interesting, I did not expect to sing in front of an audience tonight!" she says honestly.

"I guess you're well versed in this bit, learning and understanding people, you seem the type at least. But everyone knows Malkavian blood is immutable, you can't fix me, so why try? This favor I ask of you is a big one, worth more than a ride and a secret... and a song." as she adds more to the tally she sounds more and more unsure of herself. and she giggles.

"I'm sorry, I guess you might just be kind and offer a nice deal, I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, but I can't help but be a bit curious."

Sarai is a little stumped (damn his charm) she simply listens and nods at first.

"I live in El Tarter, with the old man, but I can come and pick it up too, I want it to be a surprise, he's not entirely sure why I needed the drawing." she says, with a hint of a smile.

"Anyway, thank you for trying, you do your clan credit, Primogen Wernher, if it doesn't work, I understand but..." she moves up to him and carefully moves her hand up to his hair, and circles a lone hair around her index finger, slowly enough that he can see what she is doing, then she gives him ample time to say no, before pulling it out.

Her motivations and thoughts:

"Just for luck." she says enigmatically. pressing the hair closer to her chest. A dazzling smile makes her hard to read, is she hinting at something? Just being crazy? It's hard to tell.

Sarai's face scrunches up a bit at his story. Prince? Mages? What did she get involved with here?! Is he implying that she somehow? No?

"I don't suppose said Prince thought well of those uhm... the lucky ones?" she asks sounding a bit uncertain about the concept.

"In any case, if those kind of mages did exist, I bet they would be hard pressed to be left alone, they probably would have to ... I don't know, leave their home, just give up everything they own and try to stay low so no one noticed them. Like, go live in the mountains or something."

"But if they're so lucky the just might make it work!"

"I try to avoid stigma myself, bad enough being crazy, I say the darndest things all the time really!"

"Well, I am eager."

"Tell me as fast as you can, but maybe beyond a letter is a bit too much to ask, although I am not sure what that would mean."

"Do you have carrier pigeons here?" she asks, the first thing that might be faster, off the top of her head.

Sarai did have a nice time, and being around Ludecke made her realize she's just a little neonate in a big world. She's probably lucky in that he approved of her because this meeting didn't go as well as it should have.

She liked him, what a terrible start this was! And at the same time she knew she'd be an idiot to just drive him away, he was genuinely nice and interesting. What's a rover anyway? (Bet they get along great with adversaries! ARGH!)

She didn't look unhappy, but rather, her (almost constantly) adopted severe attitude crept back after giving him the french farewell with four kisses on the cheek.

Then she hurried out into the dark, eager to disappear into the wild and find her own solitary road back.
