[CLOSED] Home of Jasper Vilkas, Priest of El Tarter

Sarai wasn't too hungry, except she had a .. hunger inside. She had used her chance to practice talking with villagers every now and then, so they'd know she was from these parts. She got a few invitations even, but she didn't accept them, it wasn't the time to play Toreador.

The various families and what they did was of interest to her though, she kept meticulous check on what they were up to. Not all of them of course, but the main village down the hill where she lived, whom she's see most nights ahead of her. It may not be her domain, but it was her home, and she'd treat it as such.

So, there were farmers, carpenters, mechanics, optician, a pharmacist (or possibly he only visited relatives here) the list grew longer and more intricate with each passing. Then there were the other kind. At least two families had younger members in training for the church, one with an active priest, the local priest.

She investigated him closer, trying to see what kind of man this was, she'd learned what cost it was to a community with a corrupt man of the soul.

Jasper Vilkas lived not alone, as one might think despite the ban on marriage. But he had a housemaid, a squat short little woman with curious eyes and short dark hair kept out of the way. She seemed happy enough, it wasn't just a job, Sarai could tell. the woman, Madeleine would set up things for Jasper, baked cookies, coffee, prepare the grandfather chair on the porch, and the like. Jasper was often out and about, which made Sarai even more curious. He had a job to do, but how big was his duty really? El Tarter was not a big place by any estimate, it had a church of course, (what place didn´t?) but there was no mass held all day long, she discovered as much after a few innocuous inquiries. But she couldn't manage to overhear what exactly he did do.

So she stalked him, seeing him reading by nightlight, he had a modern, if small home, with the comfortable things one might want. And he read through papers, newspapers and records, doing his own little investigation perhaps? curiosity got the better of  her and she crept closer, using her Obfuscate, and hoping this man was not a true believer, though admittedly it was a risk.

She got inside and found that she could move about without any difficulty, the place was meticulously clean, and reading over his shoulder was almost too easy?

What she saw cleared up a few things, he ha reports, church reports, neglect, abuse, and other things. Apparently he was part of a council who dealt in these indiscretions, to handle the outward appearance of the church, with orders from on high. She worried, that perhaps he was worse than she thought, someone who made people kept their mouth shut. She'd seen it before. "What will people think? Have you told your family? They might not think it was wise of you to have acted this way"

The scenarios burned at her moral compass, and she grew eager to lash out, but a different story emerged. He was involved yes, but his face was draped with concern, she was no mind reader, but it was clear that he cared, and he seemed to be keeping track of people of the church who were... troublemakers.

Her beast spun with sadistic glee: HE MADE A LIST! Let's go and rip them a new one! I can't wait, oh my dear sweet blood, we're coming for youuu. it continued in a macabre song, in the back of her head, and she knew why. When it came to these things, she had a harder time to say no to her beast.

She had a few names, something to go on.

Well, the two in the middle are in Sabbat territory, so.. maybe let them wait, unless there's a way to catch them on this side... maybe they'll visit the main church in the capital someday? That nun in league with the devil just begs to be investigated.

The embellishing priest is in the Brujah domain, complicated but not out of reach, then again, stealing is such an uninspiring thing to react to, perhaps she's too enlightened to care?

Last but not least, the Veguer? What's that? And no mention of who or where this person works? She needs to keep her eyes open for more on this Antoni Cerqueda.

The beast doesn't let it go so easily, she really should follow up on at least one of these right now. But who? The Embellisher is the easiest one, but in Brujah domain, but going into Sabbat territory is just stupid. Maybe she should try and find out who the Burjah are? It's a start.
